“SINELAS” is a heart-warming film that tells the story of a mother-son relationship amidst the challenges of poverty and abandonment. The film aims to give the audience a glimpse of how a poor boy from the barrios copes with an overly strict upbringing by a single parent and his desire to play and be among kids his age.
Everyone is encouraged to participate after watching by writing an essay about their take on the film for a chance to win an iPad 2.
Moreover, at the Premiere Night, there will also be a launching of SINELAKAD: The Sinelas School Caravan, which aims to bring not only the film but also the movie theater experience to underprivileged elementary schools in the poorest and far-flung provinces of the country. Additionally, to further its cause, the caravan will feature SINELARO: The Sinelas Football Clinic. The objective of which is to promote the world-renowned team sport to indigent pupils to stress the value of camaraderie and team work while at the same time incorporating the element of fun. The Caravan is scheduled for January 2012.
